  Why are none of the 'Governing Body' being summoned to any of the abuse commissions?

  i'm not sure if this has been covered but i'm wondering why none of the gb are being requested at or formally summoned to any of the australian abuse commissions or other investigations that are taking place around the world?

  they after all are the ones single handedly responsible for making and enforcing all the rules that are the sole cause of all these abuses and problems.. why are they just keeping their silent distance and leaving all the ill-equipped and sadly incompetent local elders exposed to take the full public blast, criticism and humiliation for all that is now being brought out in these investigations?

  how are they seemingly able to sit cosy in their ivory tower immune and unaccountable?.

  Australian child abuse enquiry.

  a question was asked by the court on having someone in the room for moral support with a minor child or frightened girl when being questioned by the elders over allegations of child abuse.

  the elders book makes it clear no one else is allowed.

  the australian royal commission has 1000+ documented cases of child abuse over 65 years.

  Another point Bill Bowen just made on Facebook is that the 1006 documented cases are those where the elders determined that the accused was guilty of abuse. When the elders don't feel there is enough evidence and "leave it in Jehovah's hands" those cases do NOT get documented. The Borg doesn't keep record of all accusations anyone ever makes to an elder, only the ones that merit forming a judicial committee. Therefore there are a LOT MORE than 1006 pedos in Australia.

  has anybody confronted any jws with the royal commission reports on the news yet?

  i showed my 8-year old daughter a newspaper headline about it, and when she told my jw wife that the jws in australia were in trouble for not reporting over 1,000 child abusers to police, her response was "oh, really?

  Just like it was for many of us, for them it HAS TO be true because it's God's organization. Truth isn't true because it's correct, it's true because it's God's organization and therefore it's always truth. Right isn't right because it's moral, it's right because it's God's organization and therefore it's always moral. With that sort of ability to justify, you don't even bother to question. You're a GB member. Oh goody. Praise Jah. You must always be right even when you go off on ridiculous tangent diatribes against tight pants because you represent God's organization.

  If you read Crisis of Conscience it seemed like at that time the GB was a mixed bag of personalities with varying degrees of intelligence and conscience. I would guess it is similar today. Most are true believers who think what they do and say is right - not because it is morally right by any logical standard - but because it is Jehovah's organization and that can't be wrong.

  JWs don't care what's "mandatory" according to worldly laws. They follow their own laws. If the Borg HQ tells them not to report, they won't report, regardless of the law.

  so i'm wondering why the wtbts is allowing eldubs to appear in these inquiries in australia??

  True believing JWs are perfectly willing to lie for the Borg, go to prison for the Borg, or die for the Borg. I expect very few of these elders to be swayed in any way by these proceedings. None of them have so far.
  
  The benefit will be that *maybe* the news media surrounding all this will empower more victims to come forward and realize that the cult is WRONG and EVIL for how it's treated them. Also, people will be less likely to take the literature, study, convert, etc. though that's barely ever happening anymore anyway.
